Child Entertainment Performance

When is a licence needed

A licence will always be required when a child receives payment for a performance. A licence will also always be required if a performance requires absence from school, even if the child does not recieve payment. In these circumstances the child will need to be issued with an Individual Performance Licence.

Please be aware that a licence is not required if the performance is unpaid, there will be no school absence and the child will have performed four days or less within the previous six months (including the number of days that they are due to perform in the upcoming performance).

If the child will have performed for more than four days in the previous six months (including the number of days that they are due to perform in the upcoming performance) but will not be paid or require time off from school, then they will more than likely require a licence; however we may be able to issue a Body of Persons Approval.
