Pay by phone

Payment for parking can now be made using the paybyphone service.

The service is quick and easy to use and lets you pay for your parking with a credit or debit card, rather than using cash at a machine. When you park your car in a paybyphone location, you can either dial the standard rate number shown on the machines and pay for your parking over the phone or you can use the free paybyphone app (downloadable from the paybyphone website here)

Once you have purchased your paybyphone session, the Council's Civil Enforcement Officers will be able to view the valid paybyphone sessions for vehicles by using their handheld devices.

It remains your responsibility to ensure that you select the correct location and enter your registration number correctly.  If you have more than one vehicle registered to your account, you should ensure that you select the correct vehicle each time.

To obtain a receipt for your permit, you can add your email address to your paybyphone account and each time you purchase a permit a receipt will be emailed to the address provided.  Alternatively, you can have a text receipt sent to your mobile by selecting the text receipt box on your paybyphone account.  This service is charged at 10p per text.  Should you require a VAT receipt, you can download receipts for the last 12 months from your paybyphone account.  To do this you will need your mobile phone number and the last four digits of the credit/debit card used.

Please note: All paybyphone transactions are subject to an initial transaction fee of 20p; this provides the motorist with benefits such as the ability to add time remotely, email; confirmation and online receipts. Optional texts are charged at 10p per text. (Prices correct as at January 2017)
