Sometimes in life all people need is the right help and support to enable them to live  independently. The Isle of Wight council runs some services to help with this process.

These services are:

  • Adelaide and Gouldings - The Adelaide is in Ryde. It is a purpose built resource centre.  The Gouldings is in Freshwater. It is a resource centre that provides support 24 hours a day seven days a week throughout the year.

  • Westminster House is in Newport. It is a respite centre for adults with learning disabilities.

  • No Barriers is an employment service that offers training and support to people with a disability or a barrier to getting employment. No Barriers aims to empower people to achieve their goals.

The Island has many care service providers, which are not run by the Isle of Wight Council. If you wish to find out more information please visit our web page - Online Directories/Websites
