Question: PRIVILEGE SEATS: My child no longer requires their privilege seat but I've paid for the whole year. Can I get a refund?

Answer: It depends when you have requested to cancel your application. We can refund unused tickets in half-term portions, only. If a term has already started the amount refunded will be dependent on the number of half term's remaining. For example: you have paid for the whole year and your child no longer wants to travel on the school bus from 1st October. The amount refunded will be from the October half-term onwards. You would also need to send the ticket back to the Transport Service. You can find our address details here: - Related Link

Question: PRIVILEGE SEATS: My child was 10th on the waiting list but now he's 14th - why?

Answer: Children who are already on a waiting list may move down that waiting list. Question: PRIVILEGE SEATS: What happens if you need to remove a privilege seat child from the bus due to a child being eligible for Local Authority funded transport assistance? How do you decide who is removed, how much notice will you give and what about the money already paid?

Answer: The randomiser which is used for allocating seats provides an ordered list of all applicants for each service. The last children allocated to a service will be the first ones to be removed. They will then be placed on a waiting list for that service. Should a waiting list already exist for a particular service, they will be placed at the top of that waiting list.

As much notice as possible shall be given should we need to end a child's privilege seat provision, however, due to operational reasons it could be as little as one day's notice.

You will be given a pro-rata refund of any amount paid.
