Correct a birth registration

You can apply for a birth registration correction when the information is wrong, for example if a mistake was made when recording a parent’s occupation. The government website will provide information on how to correct a birth registration.

First names can be changed within one year of the registration of the birth by baptism or certificate of naming.

It costs £75 or £90 to apply to correct a mistake in a birth registration, payment is via debit or credit card.
