Important information about the The Woodland Walk

The Woodland Walk within the crematorium is a natural ancient woodland and as such has natural hazards which include a fast-flowing brook, exposed tree roots, uneven surfaces, sheer bank edges and slippery leaves and bridges after wet weather.

To preserve this ancient beauty we keep intervention to a minimum and we remind you that you enter at your own risk and that you must:

  • keep to the designated pathways
  • Keep away from the edges as banks can have sheer drops or be undercut
  • obey any signage and warnings if the area has been closed off
  • only enter by the designated routes
  • always supervise children

If the Woodland Walk has been closed do not enter because it has been assessed as unsafe or there are National Weather Warnings in place. The Woodland Walk will always close in high winds or in periods of flood. The Isle of Wight Council accepts no liability for accident or injury in this area.

Please ask at the office for further information or call 01983 882288 or 01983 823310.
