Understanding Early Help assessments

What is a Early Help Tier 2 single agency assessment ?

When your family needs extra help, one main service will be responsible to work with you and your family to identify and meet your needs.

You can still use other support services, but you don't need many agencies working together to meet you and your family needs.

What is a Targeted Early Help Tier 3 assessment?

Sometimes, you need more help than usual. You can ask for this help from anyone working with your family, like a Health Visitor, GP, school, or a voluntary organisation.

A Targeted Early Help Tier 3 assessment happens when a service talks with you about your families needs and goals. They will agree with you on support that would help you and your family. You must agree to share information for this to happen. Anyone can ask for this extra help.

The support can be short-term or long-term.

The amount of help you need and the number of services involved will determine the level of assessment needed for you and your family.
