Tier 3 Targeted Early Help assessment process
Information Review: The Isle of Wight Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) will review the information you share.
Decision: They will decide if a Tier 3 Targeted Early Help assessment is needed or if another type of support is better.
Outcome: You will be contacted with the decision and may be assigned as the lead worker for the assessment.
Complete the Assessment: Use Early Help and Prevention data warehouse, to complete the assessment within 1 month.
Team around the family meetings (TAF): The first of these meetings must be held by the team within 1 month of completing the assessment. This ensures everyone is clear on their actions and the support is progressing. Continue meetings every 12 weeks until the family's needs are met. Meetings continue even if a Social Worker is involved, unless they ask for a postponement.
Training and consent
Training: each professional needing access to Sentinel will need attend a short training session.
Consent: You need to sign the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) before access will be granted to Early Help and Prevention data warehouse.
Thresholds for Children's Social Care intervention
Each Local Safeguarding Childrens Partnership (LSCP) has produced a document setting out the Thresholds for Children's Social Care intervention.
The term 'threshold' refers to the point at which the local authority's Children's Social Care have a legal remit to work with a family to meet the child and family needs.
