Short Breaks activity funding grant applications

Funding is for sports, recreation, leisure and childcare organisations/services to provide an inclusive activity opportunity for children and young people with disabilities and/or additional needs. 

You can apply for funding to support ages 0 to 19 years to access and participate in the activity. The activity can be a one-off or block of sessions, for example, weekly sports coaching for 10 weeks.

How to apply

  1. Complete the online application form for each activity you would like to provide
Apply from: 24 June 2024

Application deadline: 12 noon, 19 July 2024

Please note

  • you can apply for more than one grant
  • you must complete a separate application form for each activity you would like to provide
  • the activity must not conflict with any education, for example, running during schools term-time hours
  • make sure you read and fully understand the grant application guidance notes (PDF, 144KB) before completing the application form

What happens next?

After the Short Breaks team receive your completed application form:

1. All applications will be evaluated at panel by parents/carers and professionals.

2. Applicants will be notified of the recommendation from panel within 2 working days of the deadline.

Decisions made will fall into the following categories: 

  • application approved
  • application conditionally approved pending further information from the provider 
  • application declined

3. If your application is approved, you will receive a grant offer via email and an agreement to be signed electronically.
