In highways, we have been delivering our Highways PFI contract with Island Roads since 2013. This contract is set for 25 years and includes

• structural, cyclical and routine maintenance
• emergency planning and network management
• enforcement
• street lighting
• CCTV

In transport we focus on the future of the current Island’s Transport Plan and the subsequent LTP 4 that is due to be published in 2025 which includes

• public transport
• sustainable travel
• road safety
• rail networks
• infrastructure for walking and cycling

The Isle of Wight’s residents and tourists are at the heart of everything we do, and we are dedicated to making sure the Island’s infrastructure is safe and efficient.

Salary: Grade 14 up to £60,592 per annum

We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Commercial Manager to join our dynamic Highways Client Management Team.

You will be able to use your previous finance and contract management experience to develop strategies for the future management of the Highways PFI contract that align with the Isle of Wight Council’s visions and objectives.

We are looking for a Transport Strategy Officer who will play a leading role in what is both locally and nationally a very dynamic area.

As a senior officer within the small transport team, you will have the opportunity to be involved in and lead on other transport projects covering a variety of subject areas such as public transport, decarbonisation of transport and active travel.
