Whistleblowing

The Isle of Wight Council is working to ensure that people are able to expose illegal and other inappropriate activities in the council workplaces.

The Public Interest Disclosure Act 1998 provides some protection for staff and others who make disclosures about a range of subjects. We publish our whistleblowing policy to ensure everyone is given the opportunity to raise these issues without worrying about the effects.

We hope that the policy will be successful in promoting a listening culture within the council. It is in everyone's interest to ensure the council works effectively.

A copy of the policy is available for download below.
