Benefit Fraud
Benefit fraud happens when someone lies or hides information on purpose to get benefits they shouldn’t receive.
For example by:
- not reporting a change in their circumstances
- giving false information
- working but not telling us when they apply for benefits
- saying they live alone but actually living with a partner
- claiming from an address they don’t live at
- not telling us about all their income, savings, or property
- giving false information
