Electric vehicle charge points

Off-street charge points

Charge point situated on grass in a car park.

Service Update

For a limited period, we are allowing free parking in our car parks for vehicles that are using the charging point.

There are two Electric Vehicle Charging Points (EVCP) located in our car parks.

 Location  Type
Cross Street, Cowes  Standard - 7kW
Moa Place, Freshwater  Standard - 7kW

Standard Chargers

The EVCPs in Cowes and Freshwater are 'Standard' chargers. They have an output of approximately 7kW and are all fitted with Type II sockets.

The charge points in the listed carparks are currently disconnected:

  • Chapel Street Car Park, Newport
  • St. John’s Road Car Park, Sandown.

In Quay Road Car Park, Ryde the charge point is out of service. Currently the parts are not available for repair, we are sorry for any inconvenience.

Using the charge points

The current EVCPs are operated by Engie through their GeniePoint network.

Current tariffs, connection fees, overstay charge and payments can be made through the GeniePoint App or by logging in to your account on GeniePoint EV Charging.

The GeniePoint App can be downloaded from the App Store or Google Play.

Or you can get an RFID card (Radio-frequency identification) from GeniePoint. To order a RFID card, you will need to register and log in to your account on GeniePoint EV Charging. The cards can take up to 5 days to arrive by post.
