Ordinary watercourses and consent

As a Lead Local Flood Authority, we are responsible for ordinary watercourse consenting and enforcement activities.

Note: not all works will need consent.

These activities do need consent:

  • something that is likely to alter or impact the flow or storage of water
  • erection of a culvert within an ordinary watercourse. (Flow should be determined as bank full flow conditions).
