Submission
The Isle of Wight Local Plan, the island Planning Strategy 2022-2037 was submitted to the Secretary of State for independent examination on 31 October 2024.
Inspector
The Secretary of State will shortly appoint an Inspector to carry out the independent examination of the Local Plan and details of the appointment will be available here.

Programme Officer
Louise St John Howe has been appointed as Programme Officer for the examination process. Louise is an independent officer working on behalf of the Inspector to organise and manage the administrative and procedural parts of the process.
Louiseās role is to be the point of contact for any person who has an interest in the examination of the Island Planning Strategy and act as a liaison between the Planning Inspector, Isle of Wight Council and people who have commented on the IPS.
Any matters that people wish to raise with the Inspector should be done so through the Programme Officer using the contact details on this page.
