The Inspectors’ Agendas for the hearing sessions will be published approximately a week prior to each session and are available on IPS examination page under Hearing sessions.

The hearing statements submitted in response to the Inspectors’ Matters, issues and Questions for Matters 7 - 9 are now available on the Hearing Statements page.

A revised Draft Programme (004) for the Hearing Sessions has now been published and can be viewed on the Hearing Sessions page. Please note that several matters have been moved to different days from the original Draft Hearings Programme.

As a result of the revisions to the Programme the deadline for hearing statements for Matters 7-9 is now 5.00 pm on Monday 10th February. The deadline for hearing statements for Matters 1-6 is unchanged at 5.00 pm on Wednesday 5th February.

The dates for the Hearing Sessions of the Examination  have now been arranged and will take place over three weeks opening on Tuesday 25 February 2025.

The Inspectors have sent an initial letter to the Council, which can be viewed at ED2 in the Examination documents.  Their letter includes proposed dates for the hearing sessions and once these have been agreed details will be posted on the Hearing Sessions page. 

The draft Island Planning Strategy (IPS) was submitted to the Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government on 31 October 2024, which marks the beginning of the public examination process.

Inspector David Spencer BA(Hons) DipTP MRTPI and Inspector Andrew Steen BA(Hons) DipTP MRTPI have been appointed by the Secretary of State to carry out the independent Examination of the island Planning Strategy.
