The conservation area was designated on 15 December 1969 and was re-evaluated and amended on 23 December 2009.

Conservation Area Character Appraisal
The Isle of Wight Council has produced a Conservation Area Appraisal for the Bembridge Conservation Area. This document was adopted on 23December 2009.
The Appraisal sets out the Council’s definition of the special interest of Bembridge Conservation Area. It will be used as a basis for planning decisions, appeal statements and conservation advice.

The conservation area is covered by an Article 4 Direction. The properties which are included in this direction are listed in the schedule and shown on the map.
