Financial assessment estimate calculator
If you have been assessed as needing care and support, you will have to pay the cost of your care, unless you qualify for financial help. Most people will need to pay towards cost of their care and support. To help you understand how much you may need to pay towards this, Isle of Wight Council have created a Financial Assessment Estimate calculator.
This does not replace a full financial assessment and will not save any of the information you enter.
If you have more than £23,250 in savings and investments, or own more than one property you, will be required to pay for the full cost of any care and support you receive.
The value of your home is not taken into consideration when receiving care and support at home, but it may be considered if you receive care and support in a residential / nursing home setting.
This is an estimate and will only be as good as the information you provide us
Please add your information to the boxes below.
Unfortunately, this can't be used for those receiving any joint benefits for example pension credit or universal credit paid as part of a couple.
Weekly Government Allowances for Care at Home

Weekly Government Allowances for Care in a Residential / Nursing Placement
£30.65
Estimated Weekly Contribution for Care at Home
£0.00
Estimated Weekly Contribution for TEMPORARY Overnight Care in a Residential or Nursing Home

These estimated weekly contributions will not be confirmed until you have completed a full financial assessment with the Financial Assessment and Charging Team (FAC Team). They do not confirm that you will be entitled to care and support provided by the Isle of Wight Council.
Additional allowances may be considered when the full financial assessment is completed - please discuss these costs with the FAC Team at the time of your assessment.
Savings and investments
You cannot give your savings and investments away to
reduce the amount you need to pay towards the cost of your care and
support.
