Shared Lives is at the forefront of best practice in adult social care. We promote a person-centred approach that actively supports and maximises people’s opportunities to lead independent and fulfilling lives.

Our focus is to recruit ‘Shared Lives Carers’, a unique team of specialist carers who invite people to share in their family life and support them to become involved and thrive in their local community.

Now we need an enthusiastic Social Care Officer to join us, someone who will share our ambition and drive us forward to ensure the people we help across the Isle of Wight can live fulfilling, independent lives.

You’ll be joining our small, inclusive and creative team of dedicated professionals, who are passionate about making a positive difference to our Island community. We are working hard to establish our high-quality service which was recently rated “GOOD” across all domains in our first CQC (Care Quality Commission) inspection on the 29th April 2021.

This is your chance to manage and develop a caseload of existing carers and to take on the recruitment and assessment of new carers and individuals joining the Shared Lives programme.

To become a Social Care Officer for Shared Lives Isle of Wight you’ll need to;
•  Be suitably qualified with a NVQ 3 in Care or equivalent
•  Be a car driver with access to a vehicle.
•  Be able to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of The Care Act, Mental Capacity            Act, Data Protection Act.
•  Demonstrate your ability to work to practice guidance/procedure.

The role requires working outside of normal office hours as and when required, but you will specifically need to be available to work on Wednesdays until 8pm.
