School Business Manager

Grade 10, £17,066.14 to £18,545.86 per annum

Hours: 22 per week, term time only + 2 weeks (can be flexible on days/working hours)

Maternity Cover from March 2022 – February 2023

We are seeking to appoint a highly competent and organised School Business Manager to cover maternity leave who:

 

-        Is self-motivated, enthusiastic, approachable, hardworking, flexible and enjoys working as part of a team,

-        Has the ability to manage and prioritize workload to meet deadlines,

-        Is competent and efficient in all areas of HR and follows the policy and procedures of safer recruitment,

-        Can manage the site and facilities across the school, including health and safety, alongside the headteacher,

-        Is able to monitor and manage commissioned services,

-        Is confident in interpreting financial data and managing financial processes

-        Can communicate clearly and confidently with staff, governors.

 

This role could provide additional hours for someone already working as a School Business Manager or could be an excellent opportunity for someone who wishes gain valuable experience to take on a School Business Manager role in the future.

This role falls within the strategic partnership between the Isle of Wight Council and Hampshire County Council. The employer will be the Isle of Wight Council and employment is on Isle of Wight terms and conditions. Hampshire County Council has delivered, on behalf of the Isle of Wight Council, all of its children’s services functions and will continue to do so until 2023. The original five-year partnership arrangement under direction of the Secretary of State finished in 2018 but has been extended voluntarily by both local authorities for a further five years.

The management reporting line for this role is ultimately through Hampshire County Council Children’s Services Director/Assistant Director and managers who take operational responsibility for children’s services.
