We are looking to appoint a positive, committed, and forward-thinking Senior Respite Care officer to join our team in Westminster House, an authority-run respite service in Newport for adults with a learning disability and 'Behaviours that Challenge'.
Westminster House support adults over the age of 18 with a wide range of physical and learning disabilities.
You'll play a key role in delivering high-quality service, with a person-centred approach that actively supports and maximises our service user’s independence and life experience.
Duties will of course include some personal care; dressing, washing, toileting etc however our support workers are also kept busy each day with enriching activities and events designed to give people the best experience of respite.
From supporting people to access the community, recreational activities from golf to frisbee, cooking, gardening, barbecues in the garden, parties in the dining room and so much more.
You will be expected to demonstrate an appropriate level of literacy and numeracy, be a strong communicator with a clear commitment to excellence and an obvious passion for working in a caring environment.
As a senior member of the staff team, you will be expected to supervise staff and support the manager to carry out administrative duties and other tasks to ensure the smooth running of the service.
