We are looking to appoint a positive, committed person to work in our kitchen at Plean Dene one of our ‘authority-run’ homes for adults with a learning disability and ‘Behaviours that Challenge’.
We home up to 12 residents at any given time, so you’ll be able to really explore menu creation to ensure everyone looks forward to delicious home cooked meals each day.
PLUS: No more anti-social chef / hospitality hours! We are looking for someone to join us on a part-time basis for day shifts with no late finishes and every other weekend free!
You’ll be working on a 4-week rolling-rota:
Week 1 & 3 Mon, Thurs & Fri 10:00 am - 17:30pm
Week 2 & 4 Tues, Weds, Sat & Sun 10:00 am - 17:30pm
You’ll be serving lunch and dinner within each shift and supporting with pre-preparation of special diet dinners.
At Plean Dene we provide a high standard of cooking for our residents, so it is important that we hire someone with a passion for healthy eating and the ability to get creative with menus using foods sourced from local suppliers.
Your will play a key role in delivering a high-quality service, which has a person-centred approach and actively supports and maximizes residents' independence and life experience.
You do not need to be a fully qualified chef to apply, we are keen to see applications from ‘home cooks’ who would like to share their skills with our residents. You will need to have a basic knowledge of Food Hygiene Regulations, but training will be provided.
Candidates will be expected to demonstrate an appropriate level of literacy and numeracy with a clear commitment to excellence to enable ordering of supplies via online shopping required for our Residents to enjoy a healthy nutritious diet and to meet all dietary needs of Residents.
You will be well supported and receive regular structured supervision, training and development opportunities.
