Hours: 13 per week across two days, ideally Thursday and Friday 8.45am – 3.15pm (There may also be the opportunity to cover extra days/ hours as required.

This is a unique opportunity for a motivated, skilled and resilient individual with experience and a strong interest in supporting young people in their education to join our happy and successful school in January 2023. The chosen candidate will demonstrate energy, enthusiasm and the ability to prepare, plan, deliver and assess the curriculum.
You will have high level skills supported by a Degree or Diploma qualification, alongside an ambition and passion to enthuse children about their learning across the year 5 primary age range. Working under the direction of the classroom teacher you will be delivering the curriculum. You will work closely with the Classroom teacher to further develop our curriculum and set high expectations for both yourself and the children.

This role falls within the strategic partnership between the Isle of Wight Council and Hampshire County Council. The employer will be the Isle of Wight Council and employment is on Isle of Wight terms and conditions. Hampshire County Council has delivered, on behalf of the Isle of Wight Council, all of its children’s services functions and will continue to do so until 2023. The original five-year partnership arrangement under direction of the Secretary of State finished in 2018 but has been extended voluntarily by both local authorities for a further five years.
The management reporting line for this role is ultimately through Hampshire County Council Children’s Services Director/Assistant Director and managers who take operational responsibility for children’s services.
