St. George’s School is a unique provision for SEN as a secondary school for students with severe and complex needs.

CLASSROOM TEACHERS 1.0 FTE (UQT/MPS/UPS + SEN POINT – PERMANENT POST)

Unqualified Teachers Scale: £19,340 - £30,172
Main Scale Teachers Scale: £28,000 - £38,810
Upper Pay Range Teacher Scale:  £40,625 - £43,685

SEN Point 1 allowance - £2,384 per annum
SEN Point 2 allowance - £4,703 per annum

The successful candidate will need to be:

- Student focused holding safeguarding at the centre of their practice.

- A dynamic, enthusiastic, and inspirational teacher who can work creatively to enhance the education of students with a range of physical, sensory, and learning difficulties as they journey through to adulthood.

This role falls within the strategic partnership between the Isle of Wight Council and Hampshire County Council. The employer will be the Isle of Wight Council and employment is on Isle of Wight terms and conditions. Hampshire County Council has delivered, on behalf of the Isle of Wight Council, all of its children’s services functions and will continue to do so until 2023. The original five-year partnership arrangement under direction of the Secretary of State finished in 2018 but has been extended voluntarily by both local authorities for a further five years.

 

The management reporting line for this role is ultimately through Hampshire County Council Children’s Services Director/Assistant Director and managers who take operational responsibility for children’s services.
