Support with reducing your energy costs
We understand that the cost of utilities has increased for everyone, regardless of how you pay. If you are finding it difficult to manage your monthly bills, help is available.
We are working with trusted partners to support you in lowering your energy expenses. The Footprint Trust and Green Isle of Wight can offer advice on how to reduce your utility costs. You can speak with them over the phone or arrange for a home visit to assess your property and suggest improvements.

Utility pre-paid cards and vouchers
From the beginning of October 2025, Island residents of pensionable age who were claiming Local Council Tax Support but not receiving Pension Credit on 29 September 2025 will be contacted by the Partnerships and Support Services team.
They will be invited to apply for a £75.00 payment to help with electricity, gas, or water bills. This support is being offered because these residents will not receive the Winter Fuel Payment from Central Government.
- Applications for this support will be open from 13 October 2025 until 13 February 2026.
- Payments will begin to be issued from the end of November 2025.
All applications will be processed as efficiently as possible, and if your application is successful, you will receive the support by the end of March 2026.
If you are not eligible for this scheme, you may still be able to receive similar help by applying to the Footprint Trust.

Please note that this support will be provided through pre-paid cards or vouchers, depending on how you usually pay for your utilities. These can only be used for their intended purpose.
