Trade directories

The Record Office holds copies of Trade and Street Directories dating from 1784 to 2007, although most of them date from the period 1852 to 1951. Those directories which include the Island as part of Hampshire and larger counties often contain less information about the Island as a consequence. In contrast, the directories which are dedicated to specific parts of the Island often include street directories rather than just lists of notables and companies.
