1Leisure is back

The team at the Isle of Wight Council's 1Leisure facilities are hard at work getting the Island's best-known leisure and fitness venues ready for reopening.

From Monday 12 April services will start to return, in line with the government roadmap, and the plan is to get back to the full 1Leisure service by  Monday 21 June.

Alex Minns, Assistant Director of neighbourhoods, explained: "The 1Leisure team are busy getting all the centres ready for our members to get fit and stay fit.
"We're excited that the full 1Leisure service is coming back at last, and we're determined to make it work.
"We'll be making sure that everyone - staff and visitors alike - will be safe when they come to one of our facilities.
"So be sure to follow the instructions the staff give you, and check our website regularly to keep up to date with the latest news.
"That way we will be doing our bit to keep the Island safe, and make sure we can fully reopen on June 21."

Full details are available on the 1Leisure website.

The 1Leisure roadmap below outlines each step back to the full 1Leisure service on June 21. 1Leisure centres will following government guidelines closely, which means the roadmap might change if necessary.

  • 12 April - Indoor leisure Tone Zone Gym will reopen for new and existing members. Swimming pools will reopen. Indoor sports can return in affiliated clubs. COVID memberships bought before lockdown will be restarted.
  • 17 May - A revised, COVID-safe class programme will return. Indoor sports & squash will reopen. Revised, COVID-safe swimming lessons will return on Saturdays only.
  • 21 June - Health suite will reopen. Silver and gold one cards will restart. Vending area and shop will reopen. All changing rooms and showers are reopened. Full fitness class will return.
