Have your say on community safety

Do you have a question about crime and safety in your local area? If so, make a date in your diary for the Community Safety Partnership (CSP) virtual public meeting.

The virtual meeting is taking place via Microsoft Teams Live on Wednesday 28 July between 5pm and 7pm.

CSP Chair, Amanda Gregory, said: “The CSP plays an important role in reducing crime across the Island. We have a strong co-ordinated approach to talking crime and anti-social behaviour on the Island. However, this would not be possible without the valuable support of our local communities.

“Public meetings are an important way of hearing from our communities about their concerns and any comments will feed back into our key priorities. I would invite you to join our virtual meeting so we can hear directly from you.”

The meeting brings together CSP partners, including the council; Police; Fire and Rescue; the Clinical Commissioning Group; Probation Service; the Community Rehabilitation Group and the Cabinet member for community safety, Councillor Ian Stephens.

The annual invite gives residents the chance to find out more on how Island partners are working together to reduce crime, disorder and anti-social behaviour and the opportunity to ask questions.

The agenda will include an update and a presentation on one of the key CSP priority areas – domestic abuse - from the Island domestic abuse support provider, You First. Inclusion, the drug and support service provider for the Island will also provide an update on their current work.

As the meeting will be held virtually please could you confirm your attendance by emailing community.safety@iow.gov.uk with the title ‘meeting in public’. You will then be added to our attendees list and sent a link for the meeting 24hours prior.

If you would like to ask any questions about Community Safety matters, to be shared during the meeting, please submit these to community.safety@iow.gov.uk by 22nd July.

For those not able to confirm attendance there will be an option to listen in via a link published online before the meeting, alternatively it will also be recorded and posted online after.
