E-newspapers and E-magazines free with your library card membership

Islanders are being reminded that their library card now offers even more value, thanks to recent updates to the Isle of Wight Library Service’s digital offerings.
The popular BorrowBox app, already well-used for borrowing eBooks and eAudiobooks, has now expanded to include a new feature called ePress, giving users access to a wide range of newspapers and magazines — all free of charge.
This means library members can now enjoy a full suite of digital reading materials in one convenient place, simply by logging in with their library card number and four-digit PIN.
The change comes as the Isle of Wight Council's Library Service phases out its subscription to the PressReader app.
Development librarian, Louise Emery, said: “We understand that any change can cause a little disruption, but we’re confident that bringing all our digital services together in one app will make things easier for our customers in the long run.”
In addition to ePress, the Library Service is also keen to highlight its free access to Naxos Music Library, a streaming platform offering more than 1.4 million classical music tracks. This service is available via the Naxos website or app, again at no cost to library members.
Full instructions on how to use BorrowBox and Naxos are available in all Island libraries and on the council’s website.
