Fire crews hit the right notes at Rhymetime singalong session

Babies and toddlers at this week's Rhymetime singalong at Ryde Library were joined by some special guests.

The Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service attended Monday's fun session and stayed afterwards to talk to a group of 25 parents and carers about emergency response and home safety preparedness.

Operational firefighter and watch manager Lee, along with community workers Jason and Kerri, answered questions and helped to raise awareness on a number of safety issues.

Senior library assistant, Cat Monteith, said: "We were very pleased to welcome the fire and rescue service team along to our Rhyme Time and it was a really useful informative session."

Rhymetime sessions take place weekly at all Isle of Wight Council-run libraries and are completely free. Contact your local library to find out more or visit the council's website.
