Islanders invited to help shape future of local advice services

The Isle of Wight Council is calling on residents across the Island to have their say in shaping the future of local information, advice and guidance services.
With the current contract for these vital services due to end in February 2026, the council is preparing to renew its provision and wants to ensure that the voices of the community are at the heart of the process.
A public consultation will run throughout September, giving Islanders the opportunity to share their experiences and priorities.
The feedback gathered will help inform the design and delivery of the new service, which aims to support residents in areas such as housing, welfare and benefits, legal and consumer advice, and managing the rising cost of living.
The council’s Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG) service plays a key role in promoting inclusion, independence and financial resilience, while also offering timely support during times of crisis.
It is a statutory duty under the Health and Social Care Act 2012 to ensure that such services are effective and accessible to all.
Islanders are encouraged to complete a short online survey, which takes just 5–10 minutes.

The council is keen to hear from as many people as possible, including those who have used local advice services and those who may need them in the future.
