Non-infectious health, sanitary and hygiene waste
This is waste that has no risk of infection to others.
Non-infectious healthcare, sanitary and hygiene waste includes:
- nappies
- sanitary wear
- incontinence pads
- catheter/stoma bags
- wound dressings
- fluid bags and tubing (such as empty saline and/or glucose IV bags and tubing)
- blood soiled items.
This should be put in your general household waste (black bin or black reusable sack) for fortnightly collection.
If your household produces more offensive or sanitary waste than your black bin or reusable sack can hold, you may request a larger black bin. If you need help, call us on 01983 823777.
