Primary admissions consultation for 2027 - 2028
We are consulting on admissions arrangements for the academic year 2027/28. This includes admissions policies for Isle of Wight community and voluntary controlled primary schools and The Bay CE School.
The findings will assist the local authority to establish the policies for admission to Isle of Wight Community and Voluntary Controlled Schools.
Why this matters
By law, Isle of Wight Council must determine these arrangements before 28 February 2026.
Consultation period - 6 weeks
Start of consultation: Tuesday 2 December 2025
End of consultation: Tuesday 13 January 2026 (midnight)
Please note: any responses outside these dates cannot be considered.
Proposed change
A reduction to the Published Admission Number (PAN) of the following schools
- Greenmount Primary School – reduction from 60 to 30
- Haylands Primary School - reduction from 60 to 30
- The Bay CE School (primary site) – reduction from 60 to 45
- Wroxall Primary School – reduction from 25 to 20
