Crematorium arrangements during Covid-19
File Size: 61kb Key Document
The Isle of Wight Crematorium fully understands the additional emotional strain that is being placed upon grieving families who have just lost a loved one during these unprecedented times.
In order to protect our staff, grieving families and friends, and the NHS during the past few weeks we have introduced restrictions on the number of people who are able to attend a funeral at the crematorium to maintain social distancing measures.
We are very sorry that we have had to put these restrictions in place and aim to keep the crematorium chapel open for as long as possible to allow close family to celebrate the life of their loved one.
We have also had to change the way in which a chapel funeral service is conducted as a direct result of national restrictions.
This leaflet contains guidance of what you can currently expect when making funeral arrangements and attending a cremation service.

COVID-19 Out and About Cards
File Size: 19kb Guidance
Working as part of the Age Friendly Island partnership we have developed a set of ‘out and about cards’ part-funded by the National Lottery Community Fund, to help people move towards the ‘new normal’.
The cards are to help people, feel more confident when they are out and about, having to social distance and follow other covid-secure measures that are in place.
These cards are for people who:
Find social distancing challenging. For example they may have a visual impairment or have difficulty in understanding social distancing instructions.
Are exempt from wearing a face covering under the Government Guidance.
Find the use of face coverings by other people challenging. Face coverings make communication difficult for those who rely on lip reading and facial expressions
Feel they need time and space. They may have been shielding and are just starting to get back out and about.
Please download and print the cards to use as needed.
