Family and Community Network
What is the Family and Community Network?
The Family and Community Network is a vibrant network of Early Help providers from the community and voluntary sectors. It serves as a collaborative platform where members can:
- Share service updates
- Network and build partnerships
- Exchange best practice
- Seek guidance and mutual support
What Is Early Help?
Early Help refers to timely support that improves outcomes for families and helps prevent challenges from escalating. It’s about identifying needs early and providing the right support at the right time.
Our Vision
We believe that Early Help is everyone’s responsibility. By building effective Early Help systems, we can foster confident, capable communities and create better outcomes for all.
The Early Help System
Support for children and families is delivered through a combination of three service types, tailored to meet local needs. These include:
- Universal Services – Available to all families, such as schools, health services, and community groups.
- Targeted Services – Designed for families with specific needs, offering focused support.
- Specialist Services – For families facing complex challenges, requiring intensive and coordinated intervention
Member Expectations
As a valued member of the Family and Community Network, you are expected to:
- Complete relevant training to stay informed and equipped
- Attend quarterly meetings to stay connected and contribute
- Actively participate in the Family and Community Network
- Apply your learning to enhance the support you offer
These expectations help ensure that everyone accessing your provision is safeguarded and supported effectively. They also empower you to confidently signpost individuals to the Isle of Wight Council Early Help service when appropriate Family support and Early Help.
