When will the elections take place?
- Central Rural - The election will take place on Thursday 1 May 2025.
- Freshwater South - The election will take place on Thursday 1 May 2025.
- Lake North - The election will take place on Thursday 1 May 2025.
Election details
Polling Cards will be delivered in mid-April 2025. It will give details of either your local Polling Station or of your Postal Vote. This depends on your choice of voting method.
Important dates
The last date to apply to 'Register to Vote' in this election, is Friday 11 April 2025.
To allow you to vote in person at this or any other election, you will need an approved form of photographic identification. If you do not have any suitable form of photographic identification you can apply for a free Voter Authority Certificate. These are provided by the UK Government.
The last date to apply for a 'Voter Authority Certificate' is 5pm on Wednesday 23 April 2025.
If you know that you will be unable to vote in person, then you can apply for either a ‘Postal Vote’ or ‘Proxy Vote’ (where someone votes on your behalf).
The last date to apply for, or to cancel a 'Postal Vote' is 5pm on Monday 14 April 2025.
The last date to apply for, or to cancel a 'Proxy Vote' is 5pm on Wednesday 23 April 2025.

The nomination papers for an Isle of Wight Council by-election are available for you to use. The deadline for the delivery of Nomination Papers is 4:00pm Wednesday 2 April 2025.
