Details of all known Parish and Town Council Vacancies will be posted here. They are posted as and when the Proper Officer is notified of them. Updates to original postings will be added below the original post. The details will be removed after six months.
Bembridge Parish Council
20 September 2024: A
vacancy has occurred in the South ward of Bembridge Parish Council.
11 October 2024: The Proper Officer did not
receive sufficient requests for a by-election to be held. The Parish Council
will fill the vacancy by co-option.
East Cowes Town Council
7 October 2024: A vacancy has occurred in the Osborne ward of East Cowes Town Council.
28 October 2024: The Proper Officer did not receive sufficient requests for a by-election to be held. The Parish Council will fill the vacancy by co-option.
Freshwater Parish Council
21 October 2024: Two vacancies have occurred in the South ward of Freshwater Parish Council.
11 November 2024: The Proper Officer did not receive sufficient requests for a by-election to be held. The Parish Council will fill the vacancies by co-option.
Lake Parish Council
4 October 2024: A vacancy has occurred in the South ward of Lake Parish Council.
25 October 2024: The Proper Officer did not receive sufficient requests for a by-election to be held. The Parish Council will fill the vacancy by co-option.
Rookley Parish Council
30 October 2024: A vacancy has occurred in Rookley Parish Council.
20 November 2024: The Proper Officer did not receive sufficient requests for a by-election to be held. The Parish Council will fill the vacancy by co-option.
Shalfleet Parish Council
12 June 2024: A vacancy has occurred in the East Ward of Shalfleet Parish Council.
30 August 2024: The election was contested and the poll was taken on Thursday 29 August 2024.
12 June 2024: Two vacancies have occurred in the West Ward of Shalfleet Parish Council.
2 July 2024: The Proper Officer has received the required number of requests for the vacancy to be filled by means of a by-election.
1 August 2024: Two nominations were received resulting in both
candidates being elected uncontested.
Shanklin Town Council
1 July 2024: A vacancy has occurred in the Central Ward of Shanklin Town Council.
20 July 2024: The Proper Officer did not receive sufficient requests for a by-election to be held. The Town Council will fill the vacancy by co-option.
Ventnor Town Council
13 August 2024: A vacancy has occurred in the Ventnor West ward of Ventnor Town Council.
4 September 2024: The Proper Officer has received the required number of requests for the vacancy to be filled by means of a by-election.
27 September 2024: One nomination was received resulting in the candidate being elected uncontested.
