When will the elections take place?
The elections for the Isle of Wight Town, Parish and Community Councils, where contested, will take place on Thursday 1 May 2025.
Election details
Polling Cards, where requested by the Town, Parish and Community Councils for contested elections, will be delivered in mid-April 2025. It will give details of either your local Polling Station or of your Postal Vote. This depends on your choice of voting method.
Important dates
The last date to apply to 'Register to Vote' in this election, is Friday 11 April 2025.
To allow you to vote at this or any other election, you will need an approved form of photographic identification. If you do not have any suitable form of photographic identification you can apply for a free Voter Authority Certificate. These are provided by the UK Government.
The last date to apply for a 'Voter Authority Certificate' is 5pm on Wednesday 23 April 2025.
If you know that you will be unable to vote in person, then you can apply for either a 'Postal Vote or a Proxy Vote' (where someone votes on your behalf).
The last date to apply for, or to cancel a 'Postal Vote' is 5pm on Monday 14 April 2025.
The last date to apply for, or to cancel a 'Proxy Vote' is 5pm on Wednesday 23 April 2025.
Nomination Papers
The nomination papers for the Isle of Wight Town, Parish and Community Councils are available for you to use. The deadline for the delivery of Nomination Papers is 4:00pm Wednesday 2 April 2025.

Find your polling station
Polling stations will open from 7am to 10pm on Thursday 1 May 2025.
Photographic identification will be required to vote in person at a polling station.
