Registered Parks and gardens
There are nine registered parks and gardens sites on the Isle of Wight.
Parks and gardens are graded I, II* or II to show their importance. Sites are included on the register to celebrate designed landscapes of note and encourage protection.
Registration is a ‘material consideration’ in the planning process meaning the Local Planning Authority must consider the impact of any proposed development on the landscapes special character.
