Resources to support home education

There are many organisations, groups and websites which provide information and support for home educating families.

Once the local authority has received formal notification and registered your child as electively home educated you will receive an information pack from us by email which includes a useful resource document filled with information and links to websites to support learning opportunities. Much of the information in this document has been recommended by Island home educators.

Local services

  • Special Educational Needs service can provide information and advice if your child has an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP)
  • School Admissions service can support you if you would like your child to return to school
  • Island Futures can provide information, advice and guidance to support young people to take part in education, training and employment.
