School music service

The Isle of Wight Music Education Hub is an independent body. It commissions the First Access music lessons in schools, supports ensemble music, the singing strategy, supports the increase of young people playing music on the island and has a responsibility to oversee the music curriculum in schools.

You can contact the music teachers for information about lessons at office@iwmt.org.uk.

Instrumental and ensemble lessons will still be provided by the same group of committed and professional music teachers under the name 'Wight Music Tuition'.

The Music Centre will run its programme of developing the talent of groups of young musicians in playing together. The offer to young island musicians includes an extensive programme of workshops and concerts with the Saturday morning Music Centre, which meets on a 24 term-time weekend basis.
